Event details
This talk serves as an entry-level introduction to the physical problem of percolation and is aimed to be accessible to all. The critical phenomena of simple models will be investigated using an approach based largely on physical intuition. This will be followed by a brief introduction to directed percolation which is a subject of current research in the field of nonequilibrium physics.
About Condensed Matter lunchtime seminars
This is a weekly series of informal talks given primarily by members of the institute of condensed matter and complex systems, but is also open to members of other groups and external visitors. The aim of the series is to promote discussion and learning of various topics at a level suitable to the broad background of the group. Everyone is welcome to attend..
