Statistical Physics and Complexity Group meeting
Pair Approximation & Applications to Ecological Models
- Event time: 11:30am
- Event date: 9th March 2006
- Speaker: Lawrence Mitchell (Formerly School of Physics & Astronomy, University of Edinburgh)
- Location: Room 2511, James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB) James Clerk Maxwell Building Peter Guthrie Tait Road Edinburgh EH9 3FD GB
Event details
I shall give an introduction to pair approximation, a decoupling approximation for global and local densities in a lattice-based model. I shall then apply this technique to the formation of gaps in forest canopies (with real data!).
