A possible statistical mechanism of anomalous neutrino velocity in OPERA experiment?
AbstractIt is argued that the recently reported "superluminal neutrinos" could be accounted for a purely statistical effect due to the fact that only a very small fraction of initial protons is transformed into finally observed neutrinos. A simple one-dimensional model of a strongly damped Gaussian wave-packet is used to give an explanation consistent with the experimental data.
