Event details
As a follow-up to last weeks talk (and by popular demand?) I will work through the replica analysis of the random energy model (REM) step by step and highlight the points at which assumptions are made. I will start with some perspective on on disordered systems and why the replica approach is required. The REM is the simplest model to exhibit replica symmetry breaking so it is an opportunity to fully understand this novel behaviour. However, my objective is to provide a self contained talk where each step can be fully understood.
