In January RCUK released a statement indicating that any organisation in receipt of research council funding should be promoting cultural change in relation to equality and diversity including participation in Athena Swan and Project Juno. I will discuss the implications of this announcement and what changes we may need to introduce to meet this requirement, as well as the Equality Act 2010 and our legal obligations as employees of the University.
