Event details
Bayesian statistics is an alternative description of statistical knowledge from the commonly taught frequentist statistics, and provides a formal structure by which to do inference without recourse to estimators. I will discuss the fundamental difference in philosophy between these two types of statistics, will give present some illustrative examples, and if time allows discuss some more sophisticated applications to biology.
