Event details

Models with a single additional large electroweak scalar multiplet provide a simple extension to the Standard Model. Such models may also provide a natural dark matter candidate. The additional particles in the multiplet will have an effect on electroweak processes in the Standard Model. It is then of great interest to determine what constraints, if any, are to be placed on these models. This talk will examine two different classes of models: those with an accidental U(1) symmetry, and those with an imposed Z_2 symmetry. Constraints arising from theoretical requirements as well as direct and indirect experimental measurements will be discussed.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
