Paul Dirac event at the Edinburgh International Science Festival

  • Event time: 3:30pm
  • Event date: 17th April 2010
  • Location: Reid Concert Hall

Event details

Consultant psychiatrist Dr Raj Persaud investigates the brilliant mind of Paul Dirac, British physicist and a founder of quantum physics. Persaud will do this by putting Dirac’s biographer Graham Farmelo on the couch to examine whether Dirac was unusual psychologically and, if so, whether this helped him. Or is the Hollywood portrayal of scientists as odd just artistic licence?

Graham Farmelo's biography of Dirac is titled The Strangest Man: The Hidden Life of Paul Dirac, Quantum Genius, pp539, Faber, ISBN 0571222780
