Event details

The aim of this talk is to give a broad overview of the physics related to theta dependence in gauge theories and to the problems encountered in studying such topics by using lattice simulations. While these problems are generically classified as algorithmic problems, their origin can in fact be understood using simple physical arguments. These arguments also make it clear that this class of problems is typical not only of 4d gauge theories, but also of much simpler low dimensional theories, that can be conveniently used as test beds for algorithm development.
