Event details

Since the late 1980s UK astrophysicists have been running Dark Matter search experiments at Boulby mine—a working Potash mine on the North East coast of England. The search for Dark Matter continues and the UK's experiments at Boulby continue to lead in the field. Meanwhile the world of underground science is growing with a number of other science areas emerging that require the special environment found deep underground. This talk will give an overview of the UK's deep underground science facility at Boulby—describing the place, the facilities, the science currently supported and the science that might be supported in the future.
