Axion searches in LUX and LZ

Axions, initially introduced to solve the strong CP problem, are one of the leading candidates for dark matter. Their coupling to electrons via the axioelectric effect may allow detection in direct dark matter search instruments. Analysis of data to search for axions requires significantly different approaches. Edinburgh leads the axion searches in LUX and LZ.
