Event details

A main goal of the LHC is to measure differential top pair production cross sections in the boosted regime, where the energy of the top quark is much larger than its mass. The main subject of the talk is to explain how to use effective field-theory techniques to factorize and resum potentially large logarithmic corrections to the differential cross section in this regime.  I also discuss applications to the production process ttH, where a Higgs boson is produced in association with the top pair.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
