Event details

After the Higgs discovery a couple of years ago, theorists continue the search for new physics. The hierarchy problem is one of the main reasons for this. A plausible approach to look for new physics is studying the properties of this newly discovered particle. Expecting new physics to occur at some high energy scale, an effective field theory approach can be implemented, where the resulting modified Higgs couplings can be studied. I will look at a more general approach, where the Higgs is strongly interacting and appears as a pseudo Goldstone boson. Through power counting, I will look at important couplings that could allow for testing the model and new physics.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
