Event details

The Operator Product Expansion (OPE) is a method to obtain information about the short-distance behaviour of correlation functions in quantum field theory and statistical mechanics. It is not only widely used in practice, e.g. in the context of deep inelastic scattering in Quantum Chromo Dynamics, but also interesting from a formal/mathematical viewpoint. In this talk, I report on new insights into the nature of the OPE. The talk will have an introductory character and is directed towards theoretical physicists and mathematicians alike.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
