Inflation along a supersymmetric flat direction and supergravity corrections

  • Event time: 2:00pm
  • Event date: 12th October 2011
  • Speaker: Philip Stephens ( CAPG, Lancaster University)
  • Location: Lecture Theatre C,

Event details

Embedding the early universe consistently within a complete model of particle physics remains the ultimate ambition of cosmology. Within this context the MSSM represents the most constrained and well understood BSM physics within which to describe not only inflation, but Baryogenesis and dark matter. We will discuss how inflation along a flat direction can be an important part of this set up, and how supergravity corrections can be harnessed to relieve fine tuning.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
