Weighted Networks and the Multi-Species Zero-Range Process

  • Event time: 1:00pm
  • Event date: 22nd August 2005
  • Speaker: Andrew Angel (University of Edinburgh)
  • Location: Room 2511,

Event details

After a brief introduction to networks and their weighted counterparts, including some relevant existing models, a model of a rewiring weighted network will be presented. A mapping between this model and the multi-species zero-range process will then be discussed. Finally, theory and simulation results that indicate that this model can partially recreate some of the behaviour seen in real networks will be shown.

About Condensed Matter lunchtime seminars

This is a weekly series of informal talks given primarily by members of the institute of condensed matter and complex systems, but is also open to members of other groups and external visitors. The aim of the series is to promote discussion and learning of various topics at a level suitable to the broad background of the group. Everyone is welcome to attend..
