Event details

Lattice QCD calculations of scattering amplitudes have improved markedly thanks to advances in the algorithms which treat quark propagation. I will present recent calculations utilizing $N_{\mathrm{f}}=2+1$ dynamical quark flavors of the total isospin $I=1$ and $I=2$ elastic pion-pion scattering amplitudes and the isovector timelike pion form factor. This form factor is a prototypical resonance photo-production amplitude and is related to the low-energy hadronic vacuum polarization, making it relevant for phenomenology both in and beyond the Standard Model.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
