Prof Stewart McWilliams, School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Edinburgh. 

Abstract

The promise of nuclear fusion energy has long tantalised humanity, and most recently as a solution to converging crises in energy and environment. Prof McWilliams will discuss progress in fusion technologies to date, the growing commercialisation of fusion tech, and the prospects for ultimate success as a power source for mankind.
