We normally take on approximately 40 new students per academic year. Most of these places will be funded by the STFC and EPSRC Research Councils and are hence restricted to UK students. A number of Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA) prize studentships are awarded annually and are unrestricted by nationality. A number of fully-funded PhD places in Condensed Matter Physics are also available through the new Condensed Matter Doctoral Training Centre. They are primarily available for UK students or EU citizens who have spent at least 4 years in full-time study in the UK, but a limited number of scholarship places will be available to EU students based outside the UK. EU studentships may also be available for non-UK EU nationals. For other funding opportunites, for UK, EU and International students, please see the Scholarships and Student Funding home page which is updated regularly with information on newly approved awards.
