The quality of research in astronomy is excellent!

Edinburgh is a fantastic place to live and study and I will be sad to leave! The quality of research in astronomy is excellent, and I have really enjoyed becoming part of the scientific community during my PhD, writing journal articles and presenting my research at conferences.  Outside work Edinburgh is the perfect place for outdoor pursuits with the highlands at your doorstep and plenty of green space in and around the city. During my time here I've been part of both sailing and hill walking clubs as part of the University, and as an avid road cyclist there are plenty of great routes to explore. I'm currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Astronomy, where I am continuing the research projects I undertook as part of my PhD.  From October I will be continuing my research career at the University of Oxford as a fellow there.
