Event details

This talk is intended to provide a gentle and general introduction to first principles or ab initio simulations. In particular, the techniques employed in ab initio simulation here in the department will be discussed, with the hope that any future My work seminars involving these methods will be accessible to all.
Warning: The words Colloid and Polymer will not feature in this seminar.
The words Quantum and Mechanics will.

This is a weekly series of informal talks given primarily by members of the soft condensed matter and statistical mechanics groups, but is also open to members of other groups and external visitors. The aim of the series is to promote discussion and learning of various topics at a level suitable to the broad background of the group. Everyone is welcome to attend..
