Statistical Physics and Complexity Group meeting
First passage processes and electrostatics
- Event time: 11:30am
- Event date: 19th February 2014
- Speaker: Jakub Pastuszak (Formerly School of Physics & Astronomy, University of Edinburgh)
- Location: Room 2511, James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB) James Clerk Maxwell Building Peter Guthrie Tait Road Edinburgh EH9 3FD GB
Event details
In this talk I will outline the connection between first passage properties of diffusion and electrostatics. I will outline relation between the electric fields and first passage probabilities for the problems in similar geometry, and I will show how one can relate first passage times to electrostatic potentials.
