Imagine assembling a product that has to go through N steps in order to be completed. Now consider a process in which (i) each step has a processing and degradation rate that is proportional to the number of products at that step and (ii) new products are initiated at a constant rate. I will compute the rate at which the products are completed and discuss examples such as nucleated polymerization to which this process is relevan
