Neutrinos at the Terascale: a tale of 3.5 frontiers
General interest seminar
Neutrinos at the Terascale: a tale of 3.5 frontiers
- Event time: 5:00pm
- Event date: 26th April 2012
- Speaker: Heinrich Paes (University of Dortmund)
- Location: Lecture Theatre A, James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB) James Clerk Maxwell Building Peter Guthrie Tait Road Edinburgh EH9 3FD GB
Event details
Neutrinos are the only hint for physics beyond the Standard Model. While the hierarchy problem, gauge coupling unification and dark matter give rise to hope for a direct discovery of new physics at the LHC, Occam's razor suggests that there might be a relation.
In this talk I discuss 3.5 frontiers, where neutino physics might be directly related to new physics to be discovered in the unknown realm of the Terascale:
- the Majorana frontier
- the Unification frontier
- the Flavor frontier
- the Exotics frontier
