Her background is in condensed matter chemistry. As an experimentalist, she uses diamond anvil cells to generate high pressures and study fundamental physical and chemical phenomena at extreme densities. In her routine experiments, she frequently uses lasers as a light or heat source.

Seminar

Dr Miriam Pena Alvarez is the course organiser of Lasers and Applications, and in this talk, she will provide a brief introduction to what a laser is.
