Find out how to get to JCMB by taking a bus from the city centre.
There are a number of bus routes to the King's Buildings campus, where JCMB is located.
Lothian Buses services 41, 42 and 67 stop nearest to the campus but these buses are not as frequent as other services. Several other Lothian services operate from Princes Street or North Bridge to Craigmillar Park, which is just 5 minutes walk from the campus. These buses are more frequent than the 41, 42 and 67 and are closer to Waverley rail station.
A single bus fare is £1.50 (September 2013). The buses do not give change. If you are planning to take 3 or more buses in one day, it is more economical to buy a day pass for £3.50.
Catching the bus 41, 42 or 67
These buses are most easily caught from the bus stop adjacent to the Royal Scottish Academy, at the foot of The Mound, whch is a short walk from Waverley Station via the ramp exit onto Waverley Bridge.
Catching other buses
A good selection of other bus services stopping near the King's Buildings campus can be caught on North Bridge. There are 3 staggered bus stops on the south-bound side of North Bridge and all are visited by suitable buses (though you will find that most of these buses call at either the second or third stops). Catch any Lothian Buses Service 3, 7, 8, 29, 31, 37 or 49 to Craigmillar Park.
The journey will take around 15–20 minutes. If you are unsure when to get off, ask the driver to tell you when you have reached the last stop on Craigmillar Park before the big junction with Liberton Road and Esslemont Road. More information on these buses can be found at the Lothian Buses website.
After leaving the bus, follow our instructions on walking to JCMB from nearby bus stops.
