Semileptonic B-decays at the B-Factories
Semileptonic B-decays at the B-Factories
- Event time: 2:00pm until 3:00pm
- Event date: 18th May 2006
- Speaker: Francesca di Lodovico (Queen Mary, University of London)
- Location: Room 6206, James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB) James Clerk Maxwell Building Peter Guthrie Tait Road Edinburgh EH9 3FD GB
Event details
Semileptonic B decays provide an excellent laboratory in which to measure the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements |V_ub| and |V_cb|. A precise determination of the ratio |V_ub/V_cb| complements the measurement of sin2beta to provide a stringent test of the Standard-Model mechanism for CP violation. New world records in peak luminosity are constantly being set at the B-factories BaBar and Belle allowing to accumulate unprecedented data samples. In this talk, I will review recent experimental measurements of the inclusive and exclusive semileptonic B decays, and discuss their interpretations.
