On the Brink of Revelation and Revolution: Electroweak Symmetry Breaking in 2008
On the Brink of Revelation and Revolution: Electroweak Symmetry Breaking in 2008
- Event time: 2:00pm until 3:00pm
- Event date: 2nd February 2006
- Speaker: Rick St Denis (University of Glasgow)
- Location: Room 6310, James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB) James Clerk Maxwell Building Peter Guthrie Tait Road Edinburgh EH9 3FD GB
Event details
The rapid increase in luminosity in the Tevatron at Fermilab has lead to rapid maturation of analyses, particularly in the direct Higgs searchs, as well as indirect searches through W mass and top mass determination. More than ten times the data for which results are currently published will be analyzed by the time the LHC starts to run. A view of the current Higgs searches at CDF with a focus on the Higgs->WW decays will be presented along with some thoughts on what the landscape will look like as the new Era of Understanding of EWSB begins.
