Event details

Petr Heinzel is a world authority on radiative transfer in the solar atmosphere, radiation hydrodynamics, and spectral diagnostics of the solar plasma. He has published over 120 refereed papers in these areas. After he became its director in 2004, he successfully brought the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic to an influential position on the international stage by encouraging links with other top research groups, training more PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, and getting involved with ESA projects.
