Event details

Two of Edinburgh's most celebrated former students - Charles Darwin and James Clerk Maxwell - went on to lay down fundamental ideas in their fields, a legacy which Edinburgh researchers use every day and which the College of Science and Engineering celebrates in our Darwin and Maxwell lectures.

This year, we have put together a special programme of lectures, music, historical displays and some hands-on science, chaired by Aubrey Manning, Emeritus Professor of Natural History. Professor Adrian Bird and Professor Ron Pethig will share some of the amazing developments in Epigenetics and Bioelectronics which will have a huge impact on our lives.
