Second Annual DiRAC Day

  • Event time: All day
  • Event date: 6th September 2012
  • Location: University of Glasgow

Event details

DiRAC (Distributed facility for Research using Advanced Computing) is STFC’s High Performance Computing facility for theoretical astrophysics and particle physics. Following success with DiRAC phase 1 we are now moving on to new more powerful machines under DiRAC phase 2.

Meeting events

The day provides an opportunity to meet others from the HPC community, learn about what is being done by all the different consortia, present and view posters on recent research achievements and discuss training and support needs for DiRAC 2. It will also provide an introduction to the facilities available under DiRAC phase 2 that are the subject of an open call for proposals for computing time.

The programme will begin at 10:30am and end at 4pm

We plan lunch along with a poster session from 12:30 to 2pm. We will have to make a cash charge of £10 on the day for lunch and tea/coffee.

Please bring a poster!

The poster boards are PORTRAIT A0 size. The day will showcase work done on STFC's High Performance Computing Facility for theoretical astronomy, astrophysics, particle and nuclear physics.
