SINAPSE Annual Scientific Meeting and SPIRIT Showcase

  • Event time: All day
  • Event date: 16th June 2014
  • Location: Royal Society, London

Event details

This year we have three themes to the meeting:

Firstly we highlight the SPIRIT knowledge-exchange programme led by Professor Joanna Wardlaw. Projects within this scheme require commercial partners. They might contribute financially, but the main benefit is the added experience that they bring and the focus on research that can be taken to the marketplace.

Secondly we present projects that are designed to improve imaging - new devices, new analysis methods, new production methods or new tracers for PET.

Finally there is a session on studies that use advanced forms of MRI, PET, CT, ultrasound or EEG as a central component of the research.

SINAPSE: Bridging the gap in medical imaging

SINAPSE is developing a world-class future in medical imaging for Scotland by drawing on the combined expertise of six Scottish universities. It is a strong, dynamic network that pools facilities, resources and skills, creating a shared environment for strategic research, education and knowledge transfer.

The SINAPSE network provides direct access to outstanding imaging expertise which will benefit the pharmaceutical industry, manufacturers of imaging equipment and academic & clinical researchers.

Our areas of expertise include: MRI; fMRI; PET; SPECT; Radiochemistry; EEG; Ultrasound; Image Analysis; pre-clinical imaging; Imaging trials; Population studies and Image Banking.
