Event details

This careers event is open to all SUPA universities. It is part of the Condensed Matter Doctoral Training Centre (CM-DTC) Industrial Associates programme, and aims to give the opportunity to interact with physicists who have followed different career paths since graduating and to learn about career opportunities within their companies.

Our guest speakers will be from a range of industries including AWE plc., CondAlign AS, Detica, e 2V, Easylab, Element Six, Intellectual Property Office, NPL and Oxford Instruments.Also attending will be representatives from CCFE, Marks & Clerk, Nature Materials, Science Magazine and SELEX Galileo.

There is no cost for this event and meals will be provided, and you can request transport from and back to Edinburgh/Heriot-Watt/St Andrews. Although overnight accommodation can be booked for Thursday, this will cost £79 single or £89 sharing in a twin room.

However for non CM-DTC students, SUPA has offered to cover the cost of overnight accommodation, which will need to be paid by you and then reclaimed from SUPA.

Post-docs and research supervisors are welcome to attend at their own expense.

Places are very limited. If you wish to attend, you should supply the following information no later than Friday 27 July:

NOTE: If you are attending the event, let us know if you would like to be booked on the transport and which pick-up/drop off point you would require.

You will receive confirmation if you have a place. In the event that demands exceeds spaces, you will be offered a place on the waiting list.
