Event details

Physics research within Edinburgh University makes extensive use of multiple computing resources managed by various teams.
These resources are spread across multiple departments within the university and are geographically spread across Edinburgh city itself.
Particle physics in particular is a compute intensive field making extensive use of many of these resources.
As a member of the GridPP and WLCG collaborations Edinburgh also contributes some of these resources toward the computing requirements of the LHC.
In addition to providing these raw computing resources, development effort is required to make sure they're managed correctly.
This talk describes both the resources within Edinburgh University and the development contributions of the Edinburgh-GridPP team.
