Event details
At 1100m beneath the earth on the north-east coast of England, the Boulby Underground Laboratory has been involved in the search for dark matter for the past 30 years. However, this only scratches the surface of the science that has been performed at Boulby. Multidisciplinary projects at Boulby include particle and astroparticle physics, geology and geophysics, climate studies, environmental studies and the study of life in extreme environments. This talk will give an overview of the history of the Boulby Underground Laboratory, of activities currently ongoing and of our plans for the future.
