Event details
The XENONnT dark matter experiment is located at the Laboratori Nazionali del Gran Sasso in Italy and started its first science run in summer 2021. At its core is a two-phase xenon time projection chamber enclosed in a double-walled cryostat filled with 8.5 t of liquid xenon. The cryostat is surrounded by neutron and muon water Cherenkov vetos. After a description of the experiment with its various subsystems, of the calibration data and the achieved background rate, I will show first results on new physics searches with electronic and nuclear recoil data.
