Event details
The LHC-Tevatron W mass combination group recently produced a paper on the compatibility and combination of W mass measurements made at different experiments at different hadron colliders. In this talk I will review the techniques and physics understanding necessary to make a W boson mass measurement at high precision, before covering the key findings of this paper. In particular, the paper uses a common QCD treatment to compare the different results, allowing their compatibility to be clearly assessed.
