Positron Emission Tomography imaging: developing image quantification and analysis methods
Positron Emission Tomography imaging: developing image quantification and analysis methods
- Event time: 4:00pm
- Event date: 31st May 2024
- Speaker: Dr Catriona Wimberley (School of Physics & Astronomy, University of Edinburgh)
- Location: Higgs Centre Seminar Room, Room 4305, James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB) (James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB)) James Clerk Maxwell Building Peter Guthrie Tait Road Edinburgh EH9 3FD GB
Event details
Catriona's research focus on the development of novel methods for the quantification of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging data, a functional, molecular imaging modality used in the study of diseases such as cancer and dementia. Catriona will present an introduction to PET imaging, talk about previous research projects related to PET image quantification and simulation. She will finish with her current research direction involving developing new quantification methods to meet the challenges and extract more information from the state of the art in PET imaging: PET-MRI imaging and Total-body PET imaging.
