Higgs Scholarships

Twelve Higgs Scholarships are available to students on one of the MSc programmes offered by the School of Physics and Astronomy. Scholarships have a value of £10,000 each. 

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and/or financial need to students of any nationality. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, a UK first-class honours degree or its international equivalent.

GREAT Scholarship

The scholarship programme offers financial support to applicants from China pursuing one year postgraduate study in the School of Physics and Astronomy. The scholarship has a value of £10,000 which will be deducted from tuition fees and will be tenable for one academic year.

Elegible programmes in the School of Physics and Astronomy are: MSc Theoretical Physics, Msc Mathematical Physics, MSc Particle and Nuclear Physics

University of Edinburgh Graduate Discount Schemes

The MSc programmes are included in the University’s two tuition fee discount schemes.  The University offers a 10% discount in postgraduate tuition fees for all alumni who have graduated with an undergraduate degree from the University of Edinburgh (conditions apply) or for students who have previously matriculated on a "Visiting Programme" as a non-graduating undergraduate student and completed a minimum of one semester of study at the University of Edinburgh (conditions apply).
