Event details

In this talk I will give an introduction into the area of Self Assembly. Specifically, Self Assembled Monolayers (SAMs) are versatile systems and can be found in various applications. After giving the fundamentals of SAMs I will talk about Soft Lithograpy which was originally developed to pattern SAMs but in recently years has been applied to many other areas in scientific research, and a few chosen examples will be shown. Finally I will conclude my talk with the outlook of what the combination of SAMs and Soft Lithography can offer in the near future.

About Condensed Matter lunchtime seminars

This is a weekly series of informal talks given primarily by members of the institute of condensed matter and complex systems, but is also open to members of other groups and external visitors. The aim of the series is to promote discussion and learning of various topics at a level suitable to the broad background of the group. Everyone is welcome to attend..
