Event details
We present NLO results for W+W+ and W+W- in association with two jets at the LHC. The calculations are performed using unitarity methods, which are briefly reviewed. Both processes are interesting SM processes as well as important backgrounds to Higgs-boson or new-physics searches. We also present an implementation of the calculation of the production of W+W+ plus two jets in the POWHEG framework, which is a method that allows to interface NLO calculations with shower Monte Carlo programs. We present some phenomenological results, discussing similarities and differences between the pure NLO and the POWHEG+PYTHIA calculation both for inclusive and more exclusive distributions.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars
The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
