Event details

I will continue the discussion of competition between species. I will show how a simple chemostat experiment can be used to determine the difference in the growth rates of two bacterial species. I will then briefly discuss multiple species competing for the same resource. In the second part of my talk I will move to modeling evolving bacterial populations in which genotypes can change into other genotypes via mutations or conjugation - a sort of microbial "sex".
