- Event time: 11:30am
- Event date: 27th June 2012
- Speaker: Sam Brown (University of Edinburgh)
- Location: Room 2511, James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB) James Clerk Maxwell Building Peter Guthrie Tait Road Edinburgh EH9 3FD GB
Event details
In this talk I will give an overview of work in the lab on bacterial social life, with a focus bacterial communication via 'quorum-sensing' (QS). I will discuss the functional significance of the use of multiple signals in many QS systems, and whether drugs targeting QS can live up to claims of being 'evolution proof' therapeutics.
