Event details
The talk will begin by reviewing the one dimensional totally asymmetric simple exclusion process (TASEP) and its mean field theory. The model will then be generalised to a tree lattice with fixed branching number, b. Using general properties of the correlation functions for the TASEP on a network I will show that mean field theory becomes exact in the limit of large b for the tree network. Finally I will discuss the possible uses of this approach for improving the approximation for finite b beyond mean field theory.
