Event details

In this talk I will discuss some basic (experimental) facts about bacteria growing in spatially organized (not well-mixed) populations. I will present basic equations which are often used to model such populations (such as the Fisher-Kolmogorov equation), show that they have some important deficiencies, and show how to construct more realistic models.
