Event details

We discuss two recent attempts to tackle the famous cosmological constant problem (CCP). We begin with a discussion of the problem, highlighting obstacles towards solving it before introducing our two distinct models. The first of these is the Fab Four model, which is able to absorb the cosmological constant through self-adjustment of a scalar field, and whose cosmology we have recently begun to develop. The second of these is a novel new idea that eliminates the troublesome role played by particle physics in the CCP.

About Particle Physics Theory seminars

The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
