Event details
It has been known for some time that gravity can be thought of as a square of Yang-Mills theory, order by order in perturbation theory. This vague idea was made precise by the introduction of the color-kinematics duality and the double-copy property of gravity. While pure gravity by itself is an interesting theory, we know that in the real world gravity should be coupled to gauge theories and thus contain a multitude of couplings and other free parameters. Can such complicated theories still exhibit a double-copy structure? In this talk we consider certain (super-)Yang-Mills-Einstein theories and show that they are double copies of (super-)Yang-Mills theories and a certain bosonic Yang-Mills-scalar theory.
About Particle Physics Theory seminars
The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
