Abstract: I will discuss how the phenomenon of gluon reggeization and the BFKL description of high energy processes can be understood in a simple and reliable way using the eikonal approximation.  This requires a version of the eikonal approximation which keeps track of multiple partons inside a projectile, in accordance to the so-called Balitsky-JIMWLK equation, which I will review assuming no prior exposition. I'll attempt to distinguish well-established results from extrapolations and conjectures, and present testable higher-loop (theoretical) predictions to help resolve potential subtleties at higher orders in the formalism.
