Heavy quark (pair) physics with LHCb
Particle Physics Theory seminar
Heavy quark (pair) physics with LHCb
- Event time: 2:00pm
- Event date: 11th February 2015
- Speaker: Rhorry Gauld (Nikhef - Amsterdam)
- Location: Higgs Centre Seminar Room, Room 4305, James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB) James Clerk Maxwell Building Peter Guthrie Tait Road Edinburgh EH9 3FD GB
Event details
The forward LHCb acceptance opens the intersting possibility of studying precision SM processes beyond the kinematical reach of ATLAS and CMS. In this seminar I will discuss how heavy quark pair cross section measurements can be used to constrain PDFs, and how measuring the angular production asymmetry of heavy quark pairs can test the SM.
About Particle Physics Theory seminars
The Particle Physics Theory seminar is a weekly series of talks reflecting the diverse interests of the group. Topics include analytic and numerical calculations based on the Standard Model of elementary particle physics, theories exploring new physics, as well as more formal developments in gauge theories and gravity..
