Kubo perturbation theory and Optical Properties of Materials
Statistical Physics and Complexity Group meeting
Kubo perturbation theory and Optical Properties of Materials
- Event time: 11:30am until 12:30pm
- Event date: 31st October 2018
- Speaker: Professor Valerio Lucarini (University of Reading)
- Location: Room 2511, James Clerk Maxwell Building (JCMB) James Clerk Maxwell Building Peter Guthrie Tait Road Edinburgh EH9 3FD GB
Event details
I will discuss some aspects of Kubo’s response theory in the context of the investigation of the linear optical properties of materials. We will see how Kramers-Kronig and sum rules can be derived and used. Finally, we will explore results relevant for nonlinear optical processes, and in particular harmonic generation.
